well this morning a few minutes ago I went for a spirited drive on I-95 with E39 2001-530i Msport five speed manual T. it is limited to 132 MPH @ 5100 rpm and this car likes those speeds and it's very confident on the road and the car and driver feel very comfortable that this car has a strong grip on the road. what I am trying to state is that no sport packaged car needs to be governed those A while ago I asked around for the best ratio to swap to in order to get some better acceleration while keeping rpm at a balance. I was deciding between a 3.15, 3.46, 3.62 and 4.1. Most said 3.46 was the best bet, I did some calculations and it seemed the most reasonable to my self especially considering I would less likely run into any issues These are often found in E36 M3, E46 323i/325i/328i/330i, E34 530i, E39 525i/530i, Z4 models. There are two speed sensors on each transmission - an input and output. The part is the same for each. This is an OEM automatic pulse generator manufactured by ZF - the original supplier to BMW for this part, as well as many other driveline components. Then you can do cams, port the head, do the valves, lighter wheels and all sorts of stuff and indeed, your car will be a bit faster, for a lot of money.
